The Bible
The Bible contains books of the Old
and New Testaments. The Old Testament is a record of Creation, a record of
God's establishment of the House of Israel as the Chosen People, a Hebrew
record of bondage and deliverance by the Hand of God, a record of the Law of
Moses, and a record of Prophecy of the Messiah and the End Times. The New
Testament contains the Gospel, the Acts of the Apostles, the letters of the
Apostle Paul to the
The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints is founded on scriptural principals. As Christians, we
believe that the Bible provides insights for living our lives in today's world.
In it we read about God's involvement with people in history and the promise of
God's continuing action in the present.
It is our testimony that the Bible is a
sacred book with valuable guidelines for living a fulfilled and happy life. We
believe that the scriptures offer understanding into the meaning of community.
Becoming a people of God is a major theme. The Old Testament affirms that all
of life is a good and sacred gift from God. The New Testament gives assurance
of God's desire to redeem all people and the Good News of what God has done for
all through the life and ministry of His Son Jesus Christ. Reading the Bible
offers new hope and strength for confronting the pain and problems we
experience.
